Music has always seemed to be there for me. I feel like music has always been able to make me feel better about myself. When I'm down, or when I need to get all worked up, or when I just need to have someone cool to talk to, music is always there for me. Even when I don't want it to be there, it always finds a way to be. The person who wrote the song was actually talking about how he doesn't have much in his life besides his music.

He used the metaphor of people being there for him to represent the fact that if he didn't have his music he would be completely alone in this world. But, even so, instead of letting the people in his life get in the way of his happiness, he made sure that he had the freedom to pursue his passion without worrying about anyone else's opinion. That's why I think that song is one of the most inspirational songs ever written.
